About Us
Welcome to our initiative, a beacon of hope and understanding in the battle against endometriosis for teens. SHINE stands for Spread Health INformation on Endometriosis. As a Girl Scout working towards her Gold Award, I aim to shine a light on a condition that affects 1 in 10 women worldwide but remains veiled in silence and misunderstanding.
Our Purpose
Endometriosis is more than a medical condition; it’s a challenge that millions of women navigate daily, often in silence due to societal stigmas and a profound lack of awareness. Our initiative aims to break this silence, transforming the way endometriosis is perceived and discussed among high school students in our community.
By weaving comprehensive and empathetic education about endometriosis into our schools’ health curriculum, we strive to cultivate an environment where students feel empowered to discuss their health openly and seek the support they need.
Our Vision
We envision a community where endometriosis is no longer a hidden struggle but a recognized condition met with support, understanding, and effective dialogue.
Through education and empowerment, we believe we can inspire a generation to advocate for their health and support one another, ensuring that the journey through understanding endometriosis is a shared, community-wide effort.
